Nanni’s commitment for the environment starts with correctly calculating the engine specifications enabling a yacht to reach its specific cruising speed without overpowering it.

Developed on Kubota bases, the expertise and experience of the Nanni technicians has always ensured reliable and high quality products with generous thrust at low revolutions.

Nanni Marine Diesel Engines benefit from highly advanced design, making them as ecological as possible without depending on over-sophisticated technology. They are able to run in harsh conditions with minimal maintenance.

SHAFT DRIVE ADVANTAGES – Generous thrust at low revs – Power – Robustness on a long run – Reliability in rough seas – Ease and comfort at low speed maneuvering

Powered by Nanni, “Love & War was built for Queensland businessman Peter Kurts by shipwright Cec Quilkey at Taren Point NSW and launched late in 1973. It was one of the last racing yachts to be built in cold moulded timber construction.  Quilkey had become one of the leading craftsmen for timber yachts and had pioneered cold moulded construction in the mid-1960s starting with Mercedes III, Ragamuffin and Koomooloo, yachts that in their time were to international, state-of-the-art construction.” David Payne  She has won the Sydney Hobart yacht race three times in 1974, 1978 and 2006 and is only the second yacht to have recorded three wins in the race.

Available for engines up to the Nanni N4.65, the Technodrive SP60 Sail Drive transmission system provides a unique and proven design to both the OEM manufacturer, and to boat owners.

It offers quiet and virtually vibration free operation, very low water resistance under sail, and an increased propulsion efficiency due to the thrust direction being parallel to the boat’s waterline.

SAIL DRIVE FEATURES & BENEFITS

– Installation and service easier when compared to conventional inboard shaft drive installations – A forced lubrication system and integrated oil cooling system – Structure made of high strength aluminium alloy with corrosion resistant protection which is electrically isolated from the engine – Ideally matched with a variety of fixed or foldable propeller configurations

Nanni N 4.115       Engine Base: Kubota    Rated Power (kW/HP): 84.6 / 115 @ 2600 RPM

The Nanni Kubota Marine Diesel Engine range is designed for coastal and river cruisers, fishing cruisers and trawlers. These engines are marinised by Nanni to deliver big power in a gentle manner for many years.

The engine blocks provided by KUBOTA are well known for high quality and technology standards. They ensures easier maneuvering and cruising, and maximum speeds are easily reached thanks to an immediate torque at low RPM and full power at medium RPM.

Developed out of the original automotive blocks of TOYOTA, these engines from 200 to 370 hp are designed for powerboats, sport boats, rigid-bottom inflatable boats, sport fishing, fast cruisers etc.

Nanni offers a range of 8 models equipped with a common rail injection system and an air and exhaust circuit optimized for planning hulls.

This range for speedboats is designed for comfort. Thanks to their compact size, the engines can be easily installed on a variety of boat types.

This 1973 Halvorsen was built in Sydney in 1973 but now calls the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron home and was originally powered by twin V8 Cummins V504M that weighed in at over a ton each. The Cummins V504M rated 190hp at 3000rpm. The new Nanni engines that replaced them are T4.230 models that are rated at 230hp at 3600rpm. Based on the Toyota 4 cylinder turbocharged engine, each unit weighs just 350kg and the repowering was carried out utilising the same reduction transmissions which meant the propellers and shafts remained unchanged. The initial sea trial, with a dirty bottom, gave 17.6 knots at full throttle. The Nanni dealer in Queensland, Marine Diesel, also supplied and installed a new Nanni QMS7.5 generator. The entire engine room was stripped and repainted, all support systems such as exhaust, controls, hot water service etc, were replaced, and much of the wiring system and electronics were replaced and upgraded. The end result is a beautiful boat with a new lease of life!
